Making a reservation at West Bay
Making a reservation is possible through our website, by mail or by phone. With a direct reservation we guarantee the best price and the best cancellation conditions.
When making a reservation, we always ask for a credit card as guarantee. If you do not have a credit card, you can also pay by bank transfer at the time of booking. Once we receive the payment, we can confirm the reservation. Unfortunately we cannot maintain the reservation without a valid payment.
If you have not received a confirmation of your reservation, please contact the reception by phone or mail.
Direct booking
Cancellation policies vary according to the rate you have selected. You can find all information about the cancellation policy on your booking confirmation.
Via another channel such as Booking.com or Expedia
If you have not booked directly, changes or cancellations can only be made through the channel through which you booked. We cannot make any changes to these reservations ourselves.
If you wish to make a reservation for a group, please send an e-mail. If the group requires more than 8 rooms, your reservation will be handled by our sales department.
Group conditions may vary, from group to group. These are mutually agreed upon with the sales department, which handles group bookings.
Practical questions about the hotel
Dogs are allowed in each room type, with a supplement of € 16.5 per night. Only in our breakfast room dogs are not allowed.
A cot can be reserved at the time of booking or on arrival. For this there is a surcharge of € 13.5 per night.
Towels are included. Hotel service is not automatically included in your reservation. If you would like to make use of it, feel free to reserve it in advance. Hotel service costs €10 per person per night.
You can check in from 15h.
You can check out until 10:30.
After check-out you can drop off your luggage at the reception and pick it up at the desired time.
If you wish a late check-out, this is possible until 13h, with a supplement of €20.
The hotel is perfectly accessible without stairs. Each room is accessible by elevator. In the hotel there are several rooms with adapted toilet and bathroom. The general areas are also perfectly accessible by wheelchair.
For special occasions you can order flowers, a bottle of Cava or a bottle of Champagne. You can order this in advance, so that it can be put in the room on arrival. A few days before arrival, you will also receive an automatic mail to order these things.
There is a bar in the lounge. This is only open during the opening hours of the reception. There is no restaurant. We provide a list of the best restaurants in the area.
Breakfast is optional and can be booked at reservation:
0-3 years: free
4-12 years: 13,5 euro
Older than 12: 20 euro
Breakfast is served in the breakfast room.
Facilities - Location - Accessibility
By car
- On the E40 take the exit Middelkerke
- Drive to Middelkerke-Bad, turn left onto Westendelaan N318 until you reach Westende-Dorp. Turn right into Essex Scottish Lane.
- On the left, you'll see Vacation Street and West Bay Hotel.
By public transport
- Train: you can travel until Ostend or until De Panne. Then you take the tram direction Westende.
- Tramway: You can get off at the stop 'Westende Sint-Laureins'.
Next to the hotel you can use a parking space for 6€ per night. The car park is accessible 24 hours a day. We ask you to leave the car park before 12 noon on the day of check-out.
There is ample parking space. If exceptionally there is no room, you can park for free in the streets around the hotel.
There are no electrical charging points available on our car park. At 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel, there is an electric charging point. (Hofstraat 28 Westende)
Next to the hotel there is a closed bicycle shed. The key can be collected at the reception. There is a possibility to clean your bikes. There is no loading point for bicycles. In the vicinity there are numerous cycling and mountain biking routes.
A new natural swimming pool was built in 2021. The pool is unique in Flanders with its length of 34 meters. The pool is open from 15 June to 15 September. Children under 12 are only admitted in the presence of an adult. West Bay is not responsible for accidents that may occur.
